Unlock Your Potential
through Psychotherapy Training

The Psychotherapy Institute Clinic (P.I.C.) CIC

Purpose & Objectives

The Psychotherapy Institute Clinic (P.I.C.) is a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to providing high-quality, low-cost psychotherapy and counselling to those who might otherwise be unable to access such services. Our objective is to bridge the gap in mental health provision, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent individuals from receiving the long-term, relational support they need.

Primary Community Benefit

We serve the community by offering a sustainable model of care. For a small weekly fee based on affordability, clients can access consistent, professional psychotherapy. This reduces the strain on NHS services and provides a vital safety net for individuals facing complex emotional and psychological challenges.

How the Clinic Operates

Our clinic operates as a professional training placement for advanced trainees. All therapists are in regular clinical supervision with experienced practitioners, ensuring high standards of care and adherence to ethical frameworks. Robust safeguarding procedures are central to our operations, protecting both clients and trainees through ethical oversight and clinical leadership.

Who It’s For

The P.I.C. is primarily focused on supporting residents within Bolton and the wider Greater Manchester area. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are seeking therapeutic support but find private therapy costs prohibitive and statutory waiting lists too long.

Reinvestment & Sustainability

As a Community Interest Company, all surpluses generated by the clinic are reinvested back into the service. This ensure the clinic's longevity, allows us to expand our reach, and enables us to continuously improve the resources available to our community and our trainees.

Community Impact

By fostering mental well-being, we contribute to a healthier, more resilient local community. Our impact is measured not just by the volume of sessions provided, but by the tangible improvement in the quality of life, relationships, and social engagement of our clients.
