About Us

More about the Institute, why we started and how we can help you

Whether you are actively considering a career change into the field of psychotherapy or you are a qualified practitioner searching for stimulating and stretching CPD, Psychotherapy Institute has programmes to meet your needs.

Psychotherapy Institute was founded in 2023 by Susie Hewitt (TSTA; MSc TA Psychotherapy; UKCP Reg Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor). We offer a 4-year part-time training programme for those interested in becoming UKCP Registered Psychotherapists and Internationally Accredited Transactional Analysts, alongside a vibrant and relevant CPD programme for practitioners already qualified in the field of mental health and wellbeing.

What We Offer

Our two development routes, for those at the start of their practice or for those looking to enhance their work.

Comprehensive Training For Professional Practitioners

Our training ethos is that each person will develop their own unique philosophy of psychotherapeutic practice based on their own life experiences and frame of reference. We will help ‘unlock your potential’ to become the Psychotherapist that matches your individuality. We will ensure our graduates meet the requirements of registration with UKCP (national accrediting body) and ITAA (international accrediting body).

Ongoing CPD For Qualified Professionals

We also offer up-to-date and relevant CPD programmes which will allow qualified practitioners to extend their portfolios into systemic clinical applications and other specialist areas of practice. With everything, our aim is to develop highly competent systemic psychotherapists trained in Transactional Analysis.
